Gulf Council Meeting in Tampa

Postby GandyGirl » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:47 am

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council meets in Tampa next week. Read this brief overview of what they plan to work on: http://gulfcouncil.blogspot.com/
I know most of you are not fishing offshore but there are some species that the Council manages that I know ya'll are catching from yaks. Kingfish, Spanish mackerel, and groupers are managed by the Council. The 2013 gag season will be a topic of discussion next week.. so please tune in and show up if you're interested in how fisheries management decisions are made.
