Event #3 Forecast 2017

Postby LimeCider » Thu May 04, 2017 1:39 pm

The HCKAC Series Event #3 is Saturday and of course, weather will be a factor. :captain:

Our second cold front of the week is approaching and storms are forecast for Thursday into Friday. The front will clear our area on Friday and cooler air temps will be ushered in by winds torquing out of the north and west at 10-20 knots.

Tides look pretty dang good for the boundary area. An incoming tide will greet you at the 6am launch and our flats will flood quickly.

Fish should be hungry after the storms but slightly freaked out by the addition of fresh water to the highly saline water they have been used to. Do your "homework" on Google Earth and search for an area to fish that will be somewhat sheltered from the stiff winds.

HardCore "Best Bet"
~ Top water plugs early
~ Suspending twitch baits mid-morning
~ RipTide/Culprit Soft plastics on weedless jig heads when the tide gets high

A major solunar period from 10:30 until 12:30 will give you another shot at hungry fish, in case you don't get your slam at first light.
Keep It HardCore!
